Two separate home invasions in Tulsa overnight have police searching for two groups of suspects Wednesday morning.

The first incident happened in the 3900 block of W. 8th St. around 2:30 a.m.

Police said someone kicked down the door to a home and when the homeowner looked outside, a group of people assaulted him.

The homeowner was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The suspects were able to get away and no arrests have been made.

It was not immediately clear if anything was taken from the home, police said.

The second incident occurred just after 5 a.m. in the 11000 block of E. 18th St.

A homeowner saw two men on his surveillance cameras outside his home and went to question them.

"He went outside to investigate and when he did, the males pulled a pistol on him," said Tulsa Police Cpl. Jeff Edwards.

The men then forced the homeowner back inside the house, where they punched him in the face, pulled a gun and fired a few rounds in the air.

They stole the victim's television sets, then fled in a black Dodge Durango.

Police are continuing to investigate both home invasions -- it's not clear at this point if they are related.
