CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A judge sentenced a man to 60 years in prison for a 2011 shooting outside of a convenience store.

Domoneik Washington, 27, was found guilty of two counts of attempted murder and one count of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. He was sentenced to 20 years for each count.

The shooting happened on March 30, 2011 outside of a Kangaroo convenience store at 897 Folly Road.

According to a release, police believe the shooting was a result of a fight at a nearby nightclub earlier that evening. At the Kangaroo, Washington shot several rounds into a car with three men inside, deputies said.

The driver, Antwan Wilson, was shot in the thigh but still managed to drive away. While driving to the hospital, deputies said Wilson was chased and shot at by another vehicle.

According to the release, Wilson was killed in the area of Folly Road and Central Park Road when a bullet struck him in the back of the head and his car hit a pole.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office was never able to identify the people in the vehicle that fired the fatal shot, the report states. Washington was only tired for the shooting at the convenience store.

After the shooting at the Kangaroo, Washington fled to Danville, VA where he was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force on May 16, 2011 and returned to South Carolina.

Washington will have to serve 85% of his sentence before being eligible for parole.
