Overnight Storms Mean Power Outages and Clean-Up

Overnight storms may have kept you awake overnight, but they could also mean power outages for days in Tulsa.

Public Service Company of Oklahoma says that more than  100,000 customers are without power this morning, and it could linger on for days. Crews are working on the issue. 

Thousands of residents have been without electricity for much of the night and early morning.  That also created dark roads for drivers, with no street lights, nor traffic signals.

Conrad Farms in Bixby also experienced downed  power lines, as well as some roof damage.

There were downed tree limbs, making travel tricky for drivers during the early morning hours. 

Union Public School's 8th Grade Center caught fire, after a lightening strike. Fire officials says it was contained to the ridge of the roof and did not damage any classrooms.  They say there was some water damage to common areas of the school.  Union administrators say the building will be fine, for the first day of school, August 19th.
