NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- North Charleston police have arrested a man wanted for a shooting that happened July 6 on Salamander Road.

According to a police report, officers responded to a mobile home for reports of a shooting. The victim told them as he was leaving the home with an acquaintance, he saw two black males run at him from the left side of the trailer and another black male run from the right side.

The victim jumped a chain link fence and said one of the men pulled out a semi-automatic gun and demanded money.

Police said the victim grabbed a sling blade that was resting on the fence and struck the suspect in the neck. He told police that's when all four suspects (including the acquaintance) started shouting "Shoot him!"

The victim was shot in the left leg, according to reports. The victim said all four men took off in a silver Mazda.

Investigating officers found "possible marijuana plants" growing on the side of the home.

On July 23, a silver Mazda was spotted on Rivers Avenue. The acquaintance-turned-suspect, identified as Benjamin Fischer, was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He was given a $100,000 bond.
