Coroner IDs man who died in accident near Magnolia Gardens

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A driver is dead after a car struck a tree and overturned near Magnolia Gardens on Sunday, officials said.

The coroner's office identified the man as 45-year-old Grady Garris II, of West Ashley. Officials said he died from injuries he sustained in the wreck.

Officials said deputies with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office responded to the single-vehicle accident along Highway 61 in the area of Magnolia Gardens at about 3 a.m.

Deputies found the BMW overturned near a tree with Garris dead inside, officials said.

The Charleston County Sheriff's office Traffic Division is investigating the accident.
