Posted: Updated:

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) - As the summer break begins to fizzle out, the buzz around the start of school is growing.  In just three weeks students in the Charleston, Dorchester and Berkeley County school districts will be back at their desks.

In preparation of the new year the City of Charleston will hold their annual First Day Festival on Aug. 18. The festival is a celebration of education. Families are invited out to Liberty Square for free school supplies and fun activities like aquarium and boat tours.

The First Day Festival is organized by the Mayor's Office For Children, Youth and Families. The group is currently in need of volunteers to help make this year's festival a success. For more on how you can help tune into ABCNews4 at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 31.

MOCYF will be featured in the Volunteer Four Phonebank.

The phonebank number is 881-5837, if you can't get to the phone during the ABC News 4 phonebank you can still call, you'll just have to dial different numbers. Those numbers are: Dial 2-1-1 or (843) 744-HELP or 1-800-922-2283.
