Georgetown councilman wants to muzzle dogs

Posted: Updated:

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) -- Leash laws for dogs are common, but a Georgetown councilman wants a muzzle law for some dog breeds.

Councilman Rudolph Bradley is behind the idea, according to a report from the Georgetown Times.

Bradley told the newspaper that certain dog breeds are territorial or known fighting breeds, so his proposed law would require those breeds to be muzzled when off the owner's property.

Other members say the issue needs a lot more discussion before any decision is made.

The matter is on the agenda for an upcoming workshop.
