911 calls went down in Williamsburg Co.

Posted: Updated:

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A fire in Kingstree Thursday morning knocked out the main power lines that provide 911 calls in the area, Dispatch Supervisor Jamie Morris said.

Since the power lines were damaged, 911 calls coming into the county's command center went down. Currently all 911 calls are being answered at another location.

Morris says officials are asking the public with non-dire needs to call the number (843)354-9330 for non-emergency calls. If you need to call 911, all calls are being answered at this time.
