Posted: Updated:

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police arrested a man they say destroyed another man's water fountain in downtown Charleston in June.

The fountain was valued at $25,000.

According to police, 25-year-old George Michael Kirkpatrick was charged with vandalism after they received a CrimeStoppers tip.

Kirkpatrick's bond was set at $5,000. He is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.

A police report states the man woke on the morning of June 1 to find the cast iron Fisk fountain smashed into pieces and lying in a small pond in his front yard.

The man told police he has surveillance cameras at his Radcliffe Street home, adding that the video shows someone entering his property around 2 a.m. and then running, the report states.
