NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A North Charleston man was arrested and charged with shooting another man in the chest on Saturday.

According to a North Charleston police report, 21-year-old Jared Carson was charged with attempted murder, first-degree burglary and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.

The report states that Carson shot a 19-year-old man Saturday night after claiming to be a neighbor and pointing a gun in the victim's girlfriend's face. The woman told police she heard two gun shots and then ran to find her boyfriend had been shot in the chest and forehead.

Carson surrendered to police shortly after the shooting.

While searching the apartment for Carson, police found a green, leafy substance in one of the rooms. The victim's brother was given a summons for the drugs, the report states.
