Forgery victim: Movers may have taken his checkbook

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Goose Creek Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify a woman they believe cashed stolen checks.

Police say the suspect, a heavy set black woman, was caught on surveillance cameras at the Bank of America on St. James Avenue in Goose Creek.

The image was captured on June 27 around 5:15 p.m. Police say the woman cashed a check for $485.

According to the police report, the victim checked his account online and saw that two fraudulent checks were cashed and then discovered his checkbook was missing.

The victim also told police he had recently employed a moving company and that the checkbook was in a desk that the movers had taken apart in the moving process.
