CHARLESTON, S.C. — South Carolina freshman Katelyn Dambaugh's run at the the 113th U.S. Women's Amateur Championship came to an end on Thursday as she dropped her match in the round of 32 to Alison Lee in 19 holes at the Country Club of Charleston.

Dambaugh was 2 down early in the match but she battled back to make things all square, winning the ninth and 12th holes. Lee birdied the par-4 13th to go 1 up and held the advantage until she bogeyed the 16th and Dambaugh made par to even the match. After both golfers made par on the 17th and 18th holes, Lee won the match on the first extra hole as she made birdie and Dambaugh bogeyed.

A native of Goose Creek, S.C., Dambaugh will now turn her attention to starting her career at South Carolina. The Gamecocks open the 2013-14 season on Sept. 8-10 in the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall Club in Hanahan, S.C.
