YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -
Police are still searching for a man involved in a reported abduction attempt on Tuesday afternoon in Lower Windsor Township, York County.
According to officials, a woman in her mid-30s was walking along Abels Road near Craley Road between 12:15 and 12:30 p.m. when a man pulled up next to her and asked if she wanted a ride.
The woman said no and put her headphones back on.
After walking a short distance, she realized that the man had never passed her. She turned and saw he had gotten out of his car and was coming toward her.
He then grabbed her by the shoulders and spun her around, police said. The woman kneed him in the groin and fled the scene towards a nearby store.
The man was last seen leaving the area toward Craley Road.
According to authorities, the man is white, in his late 40's to early 50's with a medium build and bad teeth. He was wearing a tan shirt, pants and hat, like a uniform of some type. He was driving a 4-door tan or gold sedan, possibly a Toyota, with a ladder strapped to its roof.
Police warned that because of this incident, residents should be careful and aware of their surroundings.
Residents are upset and want the suspect caught.
"I was mad. I was very mad," Billy Shoff from Lower Windsor Township said.
