MT. PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Every Fall, Boone Hall Plantation creates an agricultural work of art and this year, they're using it to help in the fight against breast cancer.

The annual corn maze will pay tribute to the 20th anniversary of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and a portion of the proceeds from the maze will go to support the efforts of the Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Eight acres of corn will be cut into a maze featuring the Race for the Cure logo.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for September 30 and will feature breast cancer survivors and their families, all dressed in pink,  standing in the ribbon formation of the maze for an aerial photo.

The maze will be open from October 1 until November 2 as part of the Boone Hall Fall Festival. Hours are  Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Admission will be $8 for ages 3 and up Monday-Thursday and $10 Friday through Sunday. Children two and under are admitted free with a accompanying adult.

The Race for the Cure is held every October to raise awareness and funds to support the fight against breast cancer. This year it will be held on October 19 and starts at the Family Circle Cup Center on Daniel Island.
