Sand Springs Man Involved in Amber Alert Waives Extradition

Posted: Updated:

The Sand Springs man who police say is accused of murdering his mother, kidnapping his six-year-old son and taking him to Texas has waived extradition.

Robert Connor III was taken into custody by Lewisville Police after surrendering at a hotel on Wednesday. His son was unharmed and has been brought back to Oklahoma, according to officials with the Dept. of Human Services.

Connor has been held in a Texas jail without bond ever since.

According to Charlie Cartwright, the chief Criminal Investigator at the Osage County Sheriff's Office, Connor waived extradition on Thursday evening.

Deputies with the Osage County Sheriff's Office will travel to Texas to pick him up, perhaps as early as next week, and transport him to Osage County, where he will be arraigned.

Police said he shot and killed his mother over an argument about money before abducting one of his sons. A ten-year-old son was left behind.

Records indicate that Connor faces first-degree murder and child endangerment charges.
