CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -
A former Pennsylvania congressman is backing President Obama's plan to strike Syria.
Joe Sestak, a former congressman and Navy 3-Star admiral, served on a panel at Dickinson College Monday night. He said it's critical that Congress act and support the president.
"The credibility of the United States is at risk. I think he boxed us in. I think we have no choice right now," said Sestak.
President Obama is seeking congressional approval to strike Syria. The Obama administration said it has proof the country used chemical weapons against its own people.
Congress will not vote on the issues until next week.
