A Tulsa mother is accused of child neglect and her 7-year-old son is in protective custody after authorities found her home filthy and a convicted sex offender living there.

It began when Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home in the 5600 block of W. 3rd St. around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday to check on children.

Child Family Services was already on scene and told deputies they were conducting a follow up for DHS with the mother, 31-year-old Amanda Griffin.

According to a booking report, the case worker said Griffin seemed intoxicated and admitted to having taken four shots of vodka. The case worker also said there were two men in the house that could be intoxicated.

When the deputy entered the home, he said he contacted Griffin, who appeared to be "highly intoxicated, talked with slurred speech, had red bloodshot watery eyes, and stumbled around the house making no sense with her statements," the report stated.

The deputy also saw two men, Larry Priebe, who was wanted on a warrant out of Tulsa for larceny, and Phillip Hicks, who is a convicted sex offender and had been arrested and convicted for failing to register as a sex offender in the past.

Both were taken into custody.

As the deputy walked through the house, he said he noticed dog feces on the floor in the living room and bedrooms, dirty clothes lining the floor throughout the house, no food in the kitchen besides condiments like ketchup and mustard, rotten food, and beside the couch, a large butcher knife laying out in the open, the report stated.

"The house smelled of dog urine, dog feces and rotten food which was laying in open trash bags in the kitchen," according to the report.

When Griffin's 7-year-old son arrived home from school off the bus, he was taken into protective custody.

According to the report, Griffin was uncooperative while being taken into custody and slipped out of her cuffs while being taken to jail.

She was arrested on charges of omitting to provide for a minor child, child neglect, resisting arrest and obstruction of officer. She is being held on bonds totaling more than $50,000.
