LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -
Charges are pending against a Lancaster man who left a note of apology when he burglarized a New Providence home, police said.
State police in Lancaster said William Harrison Rehm III entered the home in the 100 block of Smithville Road through an unlocked basement window and stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from a master bedroom closet.
He then left a hand written note of apology on the dresser, but proceeded to the living room and took several video games and then went outside and stole several gallons of gasoline from a storage tank behind the garage, police said.
Rehm is not in custody.
Police said anyone with information concerning his whereabouts should call state police in Lancaster at 717-299-7650.
