CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The last of four paintings has finally been returned to a local artist after disappearing from an exhibit at the Charleston County Library last month.

Alizey Khan announced the return on her Facebook page and said the painting, Flame Nebula, made its way home in a rather unusual fashion.

"Apparently someone MAILED it to them from a UPS store in Rock Hill, SC, several hours away, and it's slightly damaged from the packaging," she wrote. "I'm going down to the library to pick it up and assess the damage today. YAY I GOT ALL MY PAINTINGS BACK!"

Police arrested 57-year-old Robert Wayne Russell last month for the crime and charged him with grand larceny.

The completion of this case comes as Khan prepares for two new shows.

The Second Annual Redux Studio Artists exhibit will open at the North Charleston City Gallery on October 3 and will run through October 31.

A solo exhibition of Khan's astronomical paintings will also be featured at the Coastal Community Foundation from October 17 to January 15. The show will share a name with the CCPL show: "Interspatial."

Khan is also an instructor, teaching resin painting classes at Redux Contemporary Art Center.
