Arts expo held in downtown Charleston

Posted: Updated:

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston's fall arts season is kicking off on Sunday with the 4th Annual Open Arts Expo downtown.

The event features more than 35 local art organizations including those involved in music, dance, theater, and visual and literary arts. There will also be live music and live performances.

"In the past years, our attendees experienced the unique opportunity to talk to the artists and behind the scenes managers who bring the art life in our community," said Maggie Hendricks, the executive director of the Charleston Regional Alliance for the Arts. ""Our goal is building and engaging new audiences and breaking down barriers to participation in the arts."

The event is being held in the Cistern Yard on College of Charleston campus from noon until 4 p.m.
