JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- A motorcycle driver is dead after a collision in front of James Island High School on Saturday night, said officials with the Charleston Police Department.

Officials said Rodney Yarbrough, 42, of James Island, was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle at about 11:30 p.m. and passed a vehicle driven by his girlfriend. That's when officials said Yarbrough left the roadway and could not keep control the motorcycle.

Officials said he laid the motorcycle down and was ejected.

He was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina, where he later died, officials said.
