Okfuskee County Sheriff's Deputy Killed in Collision

An Okfuskee County Sheriff's Deputy was killed in a vehicle accident while responding to a call.

37-year-old David Allford was killed while responding to a call for assistance from a state trooper.

According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol release, the trooper had requested assistance while reportedly attempting to arrest a drunk driver.

Allford was headed westbound on I-40 to assist and ran off the road after his vehicle suffered a blow out on the left front tire.

The vehicle struck a cable barrier and was flipped over two times before resting on its wheels on the shoulder of the  eastbound side. Allford was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

OHP is investigating the collision. This story will be updated as information is verified.
