Officers, Suspect Involved in Overnight East Tulsa Shooting Identified

Posted: Updated:

The names of the Tulsa police officers involved in a shooting Thursday night have been released.

According to Tulsa Police, they are 23-year-old Officer Trevor Peters and 26-year-old Officer Nate Terrell.

Both were hired on July 2nd, 2012, officials said.

The suspect is identified as Santos Pedro Sajche-Iszet, 30.

The shooting took place near 31st and Garnett sometime after 9 p.m.

Tulsa Police tell the call began as a dispute between Sajche-Iszet and his estranged wife. He had a knife and was waiving it toward officers.

A bilingual officer ordered the man, in both English and Spanish, to drop his knife and surrender to police. He didn't do it and eventually lunged at one of the officers.

Police said two officers fired at the suspect, who was hit at least once in the abdomen. He was rushed to the hospital and his condition is unknown at this hour.

Both officers will go on paid administrative leave while an internal investigation takes place.
