CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A second man charged in connection to the murder of Marley Lion pleaded guilty on Friday to voluntary manslaughter in exchange for his testimony against the accused triggerman.

According to the solicitor's office, 29-year-old Bryan Rivers pleaded guilty to attempted armed robbery, voluntary manslaughter and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

Before taking the plea deal, Rivers faced life in prison on murder charges from the June 16, 2012 shooting that left 17-year-old Lion dead outside a West Ashley bar.

The plea deal stipulates that Rivers will be sentenced at a later date; that sentence will be determined by the information he gives to prosecutors who are building a case against Ryan Deleston, the man police say pulled the trigger.

Earlier this week another co-defendant struck a deal in exchange for testimony against Deleston. Julius Brown had his charges dropped from murder to manslaughter.

A fourth defendant, George Brown, was charged with accessory after murder.
