MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) - Boone Hall Plantation will be transformed Saturday into a little piece of Scotland.

Gates open for the 42nd annual Scottish Games at 9 a.m.  The opening ceremony will start at 11:00.

The Scottish Games have a little something for everyone, whether it be traditional music, Olympic type competition, or the wide variety of food offered.

"We have the caber toss, the sheaf toss. It's amazing to see these men just tossing this telephone pole like it's a toothpick," said organizer Karolea Lucas.  "And, it's remarkable the strength that these men have, and the years of practice that it takes to be able to do the Scottish athletics."

Lucas expects more than 7,000 people to attend.  So if you plan to come you may want to get an early start.

"The competitions go on all day, from first thing in the morning until early evening," said Lucas.

At 6 p.m. the evening concert will begin.  Much of the proceeds will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
