Schools Make Changes to Game Day Security

Posted: Updated:

If you're going to a high school football game, Tulsa Schools have made stadium changes to keep students safe.

Game locations are changing for two schools. Central High will no longer share the S.E. Williams Stadium with Booker T. Washington High. Central will now call Milton Stadium at Webster high, their home stadium.

Rogers will share the Williams Stadium with Booker T.

And students, if you want to come to anyone else's game, you have to come with a parent.

These are just some changes being made to increase safety at high school football games, after a gun incident at a Central game, at Williams Stadium.

The district has a threat assessment team that decided relocating games, would help.

The district athletic director says having Central play at Booker T. was not a good mix of people game night, combined with the neighborhood around the school.

"I think by taking those out of that mixture I think we will put ourselves in a better position to make sure our patrons and the number one thing I have to be concerned about are student athletes," said Gil Cloud of Tulsa Public Schools.

Also from now on there will be no new tickets sold after the third quarter. The goal is to keep troublemakers out.
