Arrest made, bond denied for man accused of Dorchester Road killing

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- Dorchester County deputies charged a man with the murder of another man outside a night club earlier this month.

According to the sheriff's office, Thomas Scott McFadden Jr., was charged with the shooting death of Rashaad Banks.

At a hearing on Monday, McFadden was denied bond.

Dorchester County Sheriff's officials said several people at Rehab Bar got in to a fight that escalated into gunfire in the early morning hours of Sept. 13. Deputies responded around 2:30 a.m., officials said.

Four people were sent to Trident Medical Center as a result of that fight; at least one of them had gun shot wounds, officials said. Banks' body, found several hours later, was connected to the shooting, officials said.

Coroner's officials said Banks bled out after being shot. The gunshot cut through an artery and the man's lung, Coroner Chris Nisbet said.
