Town officials: Awendaw boil advisory lifted

Posted: Updated:

AWENDAW, S.C. (WCIV) -- Awendaw town officials said Tuesday afternoon that residents no longer had to boil their water before using it.

The town issued a Boil Water Advisory last week due to a broken water main, said officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said the advisory would be in effect for at least three days.

Wallace said the break happened on Highway 17 north of Porcher School Road. The utility lines around the leak still need to be marked before the town can dig, he said.
