BEAUFORT, S.C. (WCIV) – One person has been arrested in a Beaufort County school burglary investigation, and deputies are searching for another man.

According to the sheriff's office, 21-year-old Cody Auvil Perkins was arrested in Jasper County. He was wanted on two counts of second-degree burglary for a pair of school break-ins.

Deputies say Perkins broke into the Lady's Island Middle School on Sept. 21, and a day later broke into Coosa Elementary School.

Surveillance video captured Perkins and another man breaking into the elementary school and forcing their way inside a vending machine and cash register to steal money, a report states.

Perkins is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center.

Police and deputies are still investigating the two break-ins.
