Crews respond to water rescue at Castle Pickney

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Crews responded to a report of a vessel that had run aground at Castle Pickney with two people on board, said officials with the Charleston County Rescue Squad.

Officials said units arrived at Castle Pickney in the Cooper River at about 10:20 Friday night.

The people were successfully rescued and returned to shore, officials said.

They were not injured.

The Charleston County Volunteer Rescue Squad, the North Charleston Fire Department, Mt. Pleasant Fire Department and the Charleston Sheriff's Office Marine Unit responded to the scene.
