Men step into stilettos, walk one mile to raise awareness

Posted: Updated:

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Men in North Charleston stepped into stiletto heels and walked one mile Saturday to raise awareness for domestic violence.

Men paID $25 to participate in 'Walk a Mile in Her Shoes,' which benefits My Sister's House, a shelter-based program in the Lowcountry.

"I think everybody as a rule should believe that no one deserves to be abused. And many of the men that support what we do of course believe that no woman child or anyone should be abused," said Elmire Raven with My Sister's House. "I think that's what encourages them to continue to support our organization and this event."

The event took place in Park Circle.

It was the third year for the event.
