NCPD: Motorcycle driver hospitalized after being hit by van

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A motorcycle driver was taken to the hospital after being hit by a van Thursday afternoon, said officials with the North Charleston Police Department.

Officers responded to Rivers Avenue at Aviation Avenue at about 12:40 p.m., officials said.

Officials said the driver of the van changed lanes and struck the motorcycle driver as they both traveled east on Rivers Avenue.

The driver of the van was cited for unlawful lane change, officials said.

Officials said the driver was transported to MUSC in stable condition.
