NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Flames burned their way through the roof of a home on Robertson Boulevard in North Charleston early Wednesday morning.

Fire crews responded to the home just before 4 a.m. They say it took only a short time to get the fire under control.

Officials said the home appeared to be vacant but there was one resident who was displaced and is being helped by family and friends. Neighbors say they haven't seen anybody in the house for weeks.

A North Charleston Police Department official on the scene says the home once belonged to the family of former College of Charleston and NBA basketball player Anthony Johnson. The official says the home no longer belongs to that family and is currently being rented. Officials say the home was involved in another fire incident about fifteen years ago.

Investigators are currently trying to determine a cause of this most recent blaze.
