Wagoner Police Make Arrest in Reported Fishing Pole Thief

Posted: Updated:

Wagoner authorities arrested a man this week accused of selling stolen fishing poles.

Wagoner Police placed Justin Michael Doak in custody in connection with the thefts of three fishing poles totaling $3,000. This is after Doak attempted to sell the stolen poles to local business.

According to a report from the Wagoner Times, the items belong to an Arkansas resident who had been in the area earlier this month. He had been fishing in the American Bass Anglers event on Fort Gibson Lake.

On Oct. 10 a local business informed WPD that Doak had allegedly come to the business trying to sell the stolen poles. Upon further investigation, police were able to obtain the four other poles and return them to their owner.

Wagoner authorities advise people to make sure their vehicles are locked and secure when they are out in public and keep all property out of sight.
