Yacht belonging to billionaire docks at Charleston City Marina

Posted: Updated:

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A 454-foot yacht made its way into the Charleston Harbor Saturday morning, making it the largest yacht to ever dock at the Charleston City Marina.

The Rising Sun is one of the largest yachts in the world, according to reports.

The yacht reportedly belongs to billionaire David Geffen, who created Asylum Records, Geffen Records and GGC Records.

Marina officials said it took six people to pull the yacht in Saturday morning.

"This morning we had a little ripple on the water and it was actually the little boat behind us," said Rebecca Sheller, who is staying on a nearby boat with her friends. "We heard noise because we have a roommate who's really loud and she was screaming, 'You have to see what's pulling up!' and we came out to see big ship- big yacht."

Marina officials said the yacht will stay docked there for two weeks.

Crew members said there are 50 of them are on board.
