Tulsa Water Wins Taste Test

Posted: Updated:

Tulsa's city water has the stamp of approval.

The drinking water won a taste-test competition. That happened when the southwest section of the American Waterworks Association gathered in Little Rock, Arkansas, last week.

According to a release from the City of Tulsa, winning that regional competition means Tulsa can now head to the national conference scheduled for June of next year.

Tulsa's drinking water consist of a mix from Spavinaw Creek and from Lake Oologah which is then processed at two treatment plants, Mohawk and A.B. Jewell, and supplies more than 100 million gallons of water daily to Tulsa customers and to several neighboring cities and rural water districts.

City officials and representatives with the Tulsa Metropolitan Utility Authority were present at the conference to accept the award.
