COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- The wife of the president of the University of South Carolina is planning to speak with students about healthy cooking and living.

University spokeswoman Peggy Binette says Patricia Moore-Pastides is holding a coffee and conversation Wednesday afternoon at the Green Quad Learning Center.

Moore-Pastides has a master's degree in public health from Yale University School of Medicine and is a graduate from the University of North Carolina's Management Academy for Public Health

She meets often with groups on campus to promote healthy gardening and cooking as part of a Mediterranean diet, and teaches cooking classes in the community.

Her latest cookbook is titled: "Greek Revival From the Garden: Growing and Cooking for Life." It guides readers through growing and preparing fresh vegetables and herbs.
