ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of a mother and toddler who died in a fiery crash on Interstate 26 near Orangeburg.

The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reports that Orangeburg County Chief Deputy Coroner Sean Fogle said the victims were 21-year-old Deshonta Beaufort of Huger and her 23-month-old son Salamo Bell.

The two died in a wreck on the interstate early Monday.

The victim's vehicle was traveling east on the interstate near the U.S. 301 interchange in Orangeburg County when their car left the highway, hit a tree and burst into flames.
