Deputies ask for leads on 2nd anniversary of Griffor murder

Posted: Updated:

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- It's been two years since 5-year-old Allison Griffor was killed and Charleston County deputies are still trying to link someone to the crime.

Investigators believe it was part of an attempted break-in, possibly at the wrong home.

On Friday, Maj. Jim Brady said detectives are still looking for information that could lead to an arrest.

"Investigators want to solve this case as they do with other cases, so it's not something we are giving up on and again we're just asking we're just asking anybody with information to come forward," Brady said.

Investigators believe the people involved in Griffor's death are already serving time for other crimes, but they need more evidence to charge them in her death.

Griffor's neighbors released a statement Friday about the anniversary.

"On behalf of the Pierpont neighborhood, we wanted to express out deepest thoughts and prayers to the Griffor family today. It's our prayer that very soon the Charleston County Police will be able to solve this crime and justice will be served. Today and always Allison is in our hearts. We will never forget," the statement read.

To provide a tip on Griffor's case, call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
