NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Some high school athletes are taking a break from the football field to help clean up some neighborhoods in North Charleston.
City officials say football teams and school resource officers from Fort Dorchester, Stall, Academic and North Charleston high schools are scheduled to take part Saturday in a "Tackling the Neighborhoods" project.
Organizers say that about 250 students have volunteered to participate. Officials say they hope the project will help inspire students to give back to their communities in some way.
