ST. STEPHEN, S.C. (WCIV) -- The man accused of kidnapping a woman and teen was found in Williamsburg County Monday night, officials said.

Officials said Telly Darnell McClam, 36, was found around 10 p.m. about 3.5 miles from where the initial search started on Council Road.

Officials said he was near railroad tracks, likely trying to hop a train.

McClam was armed with a pistol but did not resist officers, officials said.

Officials said the 36-year-old mother and her 17-year-old daughter were found around 2:30 p.m. Family members said the women were taken to a hospital and described them as bloody during a brief reunion after the ordeal.

"She's traumatized. The mother is traumatized. She got blood on her shirt," family member Latoya McHoney said.

Now McClam's mother, Margaret McClam, called for him to come out of hiding early Monday evening.

"Telly, I love you.  Whatever is going on, come home to mama.  Come home to mama and daddy because we love you.  Let God fix this.  Jesus is the only man that can fix this.  If it's a lie, Jesus will fix this.  That's all I can say," she said.

Neither police nor rescue officials have commented on the conditions of the women.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division issued the AMBER Alert in Berkeley County after an alleged abduction of a mother and daughter.

Officials say McClam abducted the mother and her teenage daughter from two separate addresses around 8 a.m. Monday morning.

McClam was charged with attempted murder and kidnapping in April, but those charges were dropped in July. St. Stephen Police Chief John Waters said the girlfriend was initially going to serve as a witness but then decided not to. McClam is also a registered sex offender with the state. According to records, McClam was convicted in 1999 for second-degree criminal sexual conduct and released in March 2012.

Family members said McClam kidnapped one of the women from her grandmother's house and then used her as bait to lure the other into his car.

They also said the mother broke up with McClam last week, after he hurt one of her daughters.

"I was trying to tell her leave him alone. She said she was threatened, she was scared," the woman's mother said.

McClam is expected to go before a Judge in Berkeley County on Tuesday.
