NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A spokesperson for the North Charleston Fire Department says fire sparked at a house on Fillmore Street Monday night.

According to NCFD spokesperson Bianca Bourbeau, first arriving units saw smoke coming from the single story structure around 10:30 p.m.

Bourbeau said firefighters made quick work of the flames and limited the damage but officials with the Red Cross called the home "destroyed."

The fire was under control in 15 minutes. No one was hurt and there is no word yet on a cause.

The Red Cross is helping the displaced family of two adults and two children, including one 18-year-old.

Firefighters from North Charleston, Charleston and St. Andrews departments responded.
