CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – A man with a 25-year criminal history was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without parole.

According to the Ninth Circuit Solicitor's office, 44-year-old Otis Robinson was found guilty of first-degree burglary and prosecutors sought a maximum penalty of life in prison. The judge in the case granted the request and sentenced Robinson to life in prison without parole.

According to court records, a West Ashley victim came home to find Robinson in his West Ashley home, ransacking it. Robinson ran, but DNA evidence linked him to the crime.

The solicitor's office says Robinson's criminal history spans 25 years. He recently finished an 8-year sentence for burglary when he was arrested on the most recent crime.
