Facility For Tulsa's Homeless Veterans Gets Facelift

Posted: Updated:

A facility for Tulsa's homeless veterans is getting a $17,000 grant, courtesy of the Home Depot.

The money will be used to remodel Bryce House, a 31-bed facility that allows male veterans to recover from alcohol and substance abuse

Employee volunteers from Home Depot and 12&12 will work together for the renovations.

"Our living environment does matter," says Bryan Day, the Executive Director of 12 & 12. "Our veterans are very, very grateful that we're out here today on a beautiful Saturday afternoon helping update and renovate and keep their living conditions looking just the way they want to."

12 & 12 is a center for addiction treatment and recovery.

Day says he's honored to be a part of the remodeling.

The work continues Sunday.

The Home Depot Foundation has pledged $80 million over a five-year period to ensure that every veteran has a safe place to call home.
