Power lines damaged in strong wind gusts

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- Three towns in Dorchester County reported damage to power lines as a result of strong wind gusts Tuesday night, according to local reports from the National Weather Service.

In Ridgeville, strong wind gusts knocked down a tree on Thompson Boulevard, which then fell on nearby power line. According to the report, the power was knocked out at nearby homes.

According to the report, a tree fell on power lines on Quaker Road in Saint George resulting in power outages.

A third incident in Knightsville resulted in a power outage when a tree fell on power lines on Central Avenue, according to the report.

Another tree fell into a yard on Gainsborough Drive in Goose Creek.

SCE&G reported 1500 power outages at one point Wednesday morning. Crews are working around the clock to make repairs.
