The Item of Sumter reported that 36-year-old Michael Paul Buckmon of Sumter and 23-year-old Matthew Trey Bolen of Williston are facing multiple charges in the death of 56-year-old Donna Dempsey.
Barnwell County Coroner Lloyd Ward said Dempsey's death was caused by a blow to her head.
The charges against the two include murder, kidnapping, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, first-degree arson and conspiracy.
Both men are in the Barnwell County jail. It isn't clear whether they have attorneys.
