BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- Part of Interstate 26 was shut down for nearly two hours Monday night after an accident, said officials with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Officials said the accident happened just after 6 p.m. near the College Park Road exit.

Officials said the accident involved six cars and one semi-truck.

Two people were transported to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, and the other people involved in the accident refused medical attention, officials said.

Officials said they did not know how the accident started.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
