Police nab suspected church burglar

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police have arrested a man they believe is responsible for multiple church burglaries in the Georgetown area.

The suspect, 40-year-old John Brady Howerton is charged with burglarizing several
churches in the Andrews Community of Georgetown County.

Howerton was arrested November 20. The churches that were burglarized include Bethel United Methodist Church and Six Mile Crossing Church of God, both on Kent Road, as well as Andrews Holiness Church on Georgetown Highway.

Howerton is charged with three counts of Burglary Second Degree.
