Fairmont Terrace: Judge Could Decide on Possibility of Separate Trials

Posted: Updated:

A Tulsa judge is slated to decided Tuesday morning whether to grant separate trials for two men accused of fatally shooting four woman in January.

Cedric and James Poore are scheduled to appear before a Tulsa courtroom Tuesday morning. It's  there that the judge will decide on several motions in the trial.

According to court records, Cedric Poore's attorney had filed the motion requesting two trials.

Both men have pleaded not guilty to killing 23-year-old twins Rebeika Powell and Kayetie Melchor, 33-year-old Misty Nunley and 55-year-old Julie Jackson in January at the Fairmont Terrace apartment complex. They are being represented by different attorneys.

Prosecutors say the brothers robbed the women and then shot them out of fear of being recognized.

The women were discovered around midday in a back bedroom of Powell's apartment. All four had their hands tied behind their backs with blue or pink fabric and gunshots to the head.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
