MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) -- A 27-year-old Berkeley County man pleaded guilty on Monday and was sentenced to 60 years in prison in an armed robbery case.

Christopher Darnell Wilson pleaded guilty to three counts of armed robbery, five counts of kidnapping, second-degree burglary, criminal conspiracy, and attempted murder during pre-trial motions, according to the solicitor's office.

The pleas stemmed from an incident that happened at the Zaxby's in Goose Creek two years ago, a release states.

According to prosecutors, two armed men forced their way into the Zaxby's around midnight on Christmas Eve 2011. One of the men had a handgun and the other was wielding a butcher knife, prosecutors showed.

Four employees were forced to the floor and the two men stole $3,700 from the store office, as well as wallets and cellphones from the employees. One of the men shot the manager in the back of the leg while she was lying on the floor, the release states.

The men fled, but police tracked them through a wooded area with K-9 units where they found a ski mask that traced back to Wilson. At Wilson's home, prosecutors showed, they found the handgun and other items.

According to prosecutors, Wilson was on an ankle monitor at the time of the robbery and records showed that he was in the area of the Zaxby's at the time of the crime.

Wilson must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
